Taught to me by the neighbours' babysitter! You can see that after messing about with QBasic for a little while I stopped coding until the world wide web came around and the era of 'CGI Scripts' began for me.

Never really learnt this - but pretty much all self-hosted scripts (remember the term "CGI Script?") at the time were in Perl.

Part of using a linux/unix based system is an ability to use bash & co to create your own shortcuts, IMO.
