From the same stash where I found Civ II. The Space concept took me in (that I just watched _Lost in Space_ helped my immersion as well). The huge leap in graphics from Civ II was also a huge selling point.
I always played as a Gaian, going by the name Gasefagos (don't ask me where I got that) and always won by transcendence.
