When I was 8 I went to a new school which had a computer room. My first program was copied from a magazine onto a ZX-81. Later our first family computer was also a ZX-81, bought for UKP 40 with vouchers collected from the Radio Times.
BBC Basic
1985–1990
My secondary school had BBC B's, although they later upgraded to BBC Masters. I wrote a matrix calculator for my O-level Computer Science practical.
Pascal
1990–1994
When I went to University (UMIST, Manchester) this was the default teaching language. I also used it in my summer work placements.
VisualBasic
2009–
Had to learn VB6 in my new job because the current application is written in it. Desperately trying to replace it!
