1982–1984
I used this at school, and now sometimes still teach it to kids.
1982–1983
I used this on a TI-99/4A but am not sure if it was a ANSI version or the TI specific variant
1982–1983
Learned on the TI-99/4A computer - not sure if it is the same variant as now on the graphing calcs
1996–2000
Was heavily involved in the UserLand Frontier community building some of the first web tools that later became RadioUserland and Manilla early blogging tools
1996–
Probably the language I first got serious with - the maddeningly loose syntax drove me to UserTalk where I first got deep into projects. I still have a few small projects where I go to Applescript first - but now try to use Appscript with Python
1999–2002
Was a quite capable language, but other bugs in the Flash runtime at the time drove me crazy
2004–
Trying to use Python more and more for sysadmin work, but there are still times when bash is the right tool for the job
2005–
used some silly stuff in the beginning. Now try to only use with jquery - if Python ran embedded in the browser, would not bother
2005–2007
Did some simple CGI work, then some custom Drupal module work. short experiment with using it as a shell script alternative
2008–
Python fit like a glove and allowed me to consolidate tasks into one language from several and replaced: PHP (web), Perl (Text manipulation), Bash (sysadmin tasks), AppleScript (automation)
