my primary school had this hidden away on a computer. I got in trouble for not following the lesson plan and banned from using the school's only computer for the rest of my primary school years.. I think because i managed to run things the teacher didn't know existed. She was afraid i was breaking it in some way. computers were scary

Had a summer job, making the frequency of the national grid appear on a LED display for SCADA operators -- this used ladder logic. This turned into a recurring gig throughout my highschool years. Never did get the decimal point to appear on the right hand display.

My mispent teenage years, and a recurring holiday job making intranet webpages to display weather modelling data for a hydro electric scheme.
1996–2002
kinda like Visual Basic, but with more typing required to make things go ;-) Then when i got to engineering school they also used delphi to control various actuators.
1996–
Visual foxpro memories
1998–
by the time i got to university, C++ and OO was all the rage. Also for palm pilots, and winCE
