1973–1982
Helped define the language as part of X3J3 standards committee
1980–1981
SCADA on PDP-11 (RSX-11S/M/M+) systems. DEC's F77 compiler was such an improvement over FORTRAN4-Plus.
1980
My first exposure to real programming, before BASIC. I came in on printing terminals and thankfully missed punch cards. I'd read the Fortran textbook gathering dust on mom and dad's bookshelf, so I was good to go.
1983–
1984
1984–1989
1985–1993
My final year degree project was an implementation of the the Graphical Kernel System in Fortran 77. I also wrote some oil field data analysis applications between 1989 and 1993 using the language.
1986–1995
Started out on DEC Pro 350 for instrument control and then did a load at the first job on and off for years
1990–1992
Did some shop-floor control and monitoring of manufacturing systems using VAX FORTRAN.
1990–1992
1990–1991
1992–1996
Learnt at Uni and then used a little bit at the Australian Bureau of Meterology. Thankfully not much :-)
1997–
Met it on a Numerical Analysis course at uni. Still using it every now and then for my job :)
1998–
2003–2004
Needed to use an old function used by FCC rules. Never again. But ITPLBV.F is still pretty cool.
2003
Learned from an old Numerical Calculus book I found. Just played with it for a few weeks. Very odd language.
My first programming language (in a college class). Hated it. On a Data General green screen.
