1984–1997
My first PC came with MS-DOS 2.0
1991–1997
1991
Came on the very first PC I purchased myself. Sucked. Switched to 3.1 for a couple of years before moving on to OS/2.
1991–1992
Used this for a job I had where we were scanning Naval drawings and documents. Had no idea who Sun was at the time.
1992–1993
First exposure to a "real" multi-user, multitasking OS. Wish I had gotten more into it, but I was drinking the GUI kool-aid at that time.
1993–1997
Bought OS/2 Warp 3.0 in 1993 and installed on my 486 PC. Loved it and 4.0 for the next 4 years but sold all my OS/2 software when I knew IBM was not going to do anything more with it.
1994
Didn't own a Mac at the time, but I took a class on System 7 anyway.
1995–1997
Never bought a single copy of this. Used a copy from work on my home PC for about a week before throwing it in the trash in disgust.
1996–1997
Tried this on my home PC after throwing Windows 95 off. Very stable, but absolutely no games worked on it.
1997–2001
First distro I used. Got fed up with RPM packaging and found Debian in 2001.
1997–
Started playing around with something called Red Hat in 1997.
1998–2000
May have used this off and on. Who the hell knows? Maybe I would have paid more attention to it if it didn't take 3 years to come out after Win 95.
2000
Played with this off and on. Was already too much into Linux to get serious with it.
2000–2001
My main system at home for about a year until I switched completely to Linux. Kept it on wife's PC until she got a Mac.
2001–
My first installation of Debian had 28 floppies.
2002
This came loaded on my first Mac, a 500mhz G3 iBook. Loved it so much, I sold it after 6 months and got a 700mhz G3 iBook with a DVD player.
2003–2004
2004–2005
First really good version of OS X.
2005–2009
Forced to use this when I took my current job. Hated every minute of it.
2005–
My dream OS. Turbocharged version of Debian.
2005–2007
2007–2009
2009–
Currently using this at work. Best OS Microsoft has ever written. Still think it sucks compared to OS X and Ubuntu though. No unix under the hood means its a failure to me.
2009–
